In a dramatic legal confrontation, two Harris County residents have taken their grievances to court, alleging negligence in a vehicular accident that left them with significant injuries. On March 13, 2025, Manuel Gonzalez Garcia and Maria Del Carmen Nolasco filed a complaint in the District Court of Harris County against Antemio Alvarez. The plaintiffs claim that Alvarez's reckless driving resulted in a crash that caused them severe harm.

The incident at the heart of this lawsuit occurred on November 16, 2023. According to the complaint, while traveling through Harris County, Texas, Garcia and Nolasco were involved in an accident when Alvarez allegedly reversed his vehicle into theirs, propelling it into another car. The plaintiffs argue that Alvarez failed to exercise ordinary care by not maintaining his lane or controlling his speed and by neglecting to operate his vehicle safely. They further accuse him of failing to keep a proper lookout and not applying brakes timely. Additionally, they allege he did not take necessary evasive actions or yield the right of way.

Garcia and Nolasco are seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million for damages such as past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, and property damage. They emphasize their entitlement to these damages due to the injuries sustained from what they describe as Alvarez's negligent actions.

Represented by attorneys from Huynh Law PLLC and The Law Offices of Hilda L. Sibrian P.C., the plaintiffs demand a jury trial to resolve their claims. They also serve notice under Rule 193.7 that any documents produced may be used against Alvarez during pre-trial proceedings or at trial without needing authentication.

The case is presided over by Judge Tianni Williams under Case ID 2025-17306.
