Edward Lemmon has filed a lawsuit against Pilot Travel Centers, L.L.C. and Travel Centers, L.L.C., doing business as Flying J Travel Plaza, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Court Case ID: 2024-29752) on May 9, 2024. The case concerns injuries Lemmon sustained due to an alleged slip and fall incident at a Flying J Travel Plaza located at 15919 North Freeway, Houston, Texas.

The incident occurred on June 29, 2022, when Lemmon slipped on an unknown slick substance after exiting his vehicle. The area was not marked with any caution signs or tape to warn of the dangerous condition. Lemmon's legal representation includes Stewart J. Guss and attorneys Adrea R. Yoss, Ryan Berchelmann, and Jason Ruen from their firm.

Lemmon claims that the defendants were negligent in failing to maintain safe premises and properly warn about or rectify the hazardous condition. As a result of the fall, he suffered significant injuries and incurred medical expenses for necessary treatment. He is seeking monetary relief exceeding $1 million for past and future medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, loss of earnings and earning capacity, as well as mental anguish.

In his petition, Lemmon requests judgment against the defendants for damages within the court's jurisdictional limits. He also seeks pre-judgment interest from the date of injury through the date of judgment, post-judgment interest at the legal rate, costs of court proceedings, and any other relief deemed appropriate by law or equity.
