A Harris County resident has filed a lawsuit against a Delaware-based company, alleging severe injuries due to unsafe conditions on the company's property. The complaint was filed by Mary Freeman in the Harris County Civil Court at Law No. 3 on August 15, 2024, against Kingwood MP RK6, LLC.
According to the court documents, Mary Freeman claims that she suffered debilitating injuries when she tripped and fell on an improperly marked entrance ramp while visiting a medical facility owned by Kingwood MP RK6, LLC in Kingwood, Texas. The incident occurred on March 20, 2023. Freeman alleges that the ramp blended into its surroundings and was not properly marked, leading to her fall and subsequent injuries to both knees, shoulders, and other parts of her body.
Freeman's lawsuit accuses Kingwood MP RK6, LLC of premises liability and negligent activity. She asserts that as a business patron of one of the defendant’s tenants, she was owed a duty of reasonable care which was breached by the defendant's failure to maintain safe premises. "Defendant had actual or constructive knowledge of the broken, defective, and dangerous entrance ramp," Freeman states in her petition. She further claims that the company failed to exercise reasonable care in either reducing or eliminating this risk.
The plaintiff is seeking monetary relief amounting to $74,900 for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering caused by the incident. Additionally, she seeks pre-judgment interest at maximum rates allowed by law and any other damages recoverable under Texas tort law.
Represented by Kenneth R. Baird from The Baird Law Firm, Mary Freeman demands a trial by jury for all claims asserted against Kingwood MP RK6, LLC. The case is being overseen by Judge Teneshia Hudspeth under Case ID 1232886.
