A Harris County woman has filed a lawsuit against two prominent hospitality companies, alleging negligence after suffering injuries from a slip and fall incident at one of their restaurants. Tiffany Lillie filed the complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas on September 6, 2024, naming Landry’s G.P., Inc. and Fertitta Hospitality, LLC as defendants.

According to the court documents, the incident occurred on November 3, 2022, at King Ranch Texas Kitchen, a restaurant owned by Landry’s G.P., Inc. Lillie claims she slipped and fell on unattended water in the restroom, resulting in significant physical injuries. The plaintiff asserts that nothing she did or failed to do contributed to the accident. "The unattended water left in the restroom of Defendants’ premises posed an unreasonable risk of harm to its business patrons such as Plaintiff," states the petition.

Lillie accuses the defendants of failing to exercise ordinary care by not warning patrons about the hazard or placing any barriers or warning signs around the dangerous area. She also alleges that they neglected to inspect and maintain their premises adequately. The plaintiff believes these failures constitute negligence and gross negligence under Texas law.

In her petition, Lillie seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million for various damages including physical pain and mental anguish (both past and future), loss of earning capacity, physical impairment, medical expenses, disfigurement, and other consequential damages allowed by law. Additionally, she requests pre-judgment and post-judgment interest at the highest legal rate.

Representing Tiffany Lillie are attorneys Lorin R. George and Omar Khawaja from The Law Offices of Omar Khawaja PLLC. The case is assigned Case ID 2024-60197 in the 61st District Court with Judge Jarod Stirup presiding.
