A Harris County resident has filed a lawsuit against a local Cadillac dealership, alleging negligence after suffering injuries on the premises. The complaint was filed by Joycelyn Mano in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on September 10, 2024, naming Sewell 10, LLC as the defendant.

According to the court documents, Mano visited Sewell Cadillac of Houston on January 2, 2023, for an oil change. After parking her vehicle in the service area as instructed, she slipped and fell while walking into the waiting lobby. The fall resulted in injuries to her arms, shoulder, and back. Mano asserts that her injuries were caused by a wet floor in the service area—a hazardous condition she claims was created and neglected by Sewell 10, LLC. "Defendant’s employees failed to warn of dangerous conditions on the premises," states the petition.

Mano's legal team argues that Sewell 10, LLC had a duty to ensure the safety of its invitees but failed to do so. They allege multiple counts of negligence including failing to maintain safe premises and not warning customers about potential hazards. The complaint further details that Sewell 10, LLC's actions directly led to Mano's injuries: "Defendant did not exercise reasonable care to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm."

The plaintiff is seeking monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million for medical expenses incurred and anticipated future costs related to her injuries. Additionally, Mano seeks compensation for lost wages and earning capacity due to her physical impairment from the incident. She also requests exemplary damages within the jurisdictional limits of the court.

Representing Joycelyn Mano are attorneys Mathew E. Mendoza and W. Clark Martin IV from The Martin Law Firm PLLC. The case has been assigned Case ID 2024-61097 and will be heard in Harris County's 165th Judicial District Court.
