In a gripping legal battle that underscores the potential hazards of beauty treatments, Melsha Vaughn has filed a lawsuit against Lady Lash Professional, LLC. The complaint was lodged in Harris County, Texas, on April 17, 2025, alleging severe negligence during an eyelash extension procedure that resulted in significant injuries to Vaughn.

According to the court documents filed by Vaughn's attorneys from Sneed|Mitchell, LLP, the incident occurred on October 6, 2024. Vaughn was at Lady Lash Pro’s Houston location for eyelash extensions when she began experiencing excruciating pain in her eyes due to the application of adhesive. The lawsuit claims that this led to severe chemical burns and subsequent vision loss, as well as injury to the conjunctiva and a corneal abrasion. "Defendant owed Plaintiff a duty to exercise ordinary care," states the petition, highlighting that Lady Lash Professional failed to uphold industry standards during the procedure.

The lawsuit accuses Lady Lash Professional of both negligence and gross negligence. It argues that the company not only failed in its duty of care but also did not adequately supervise its technician during the service. This alleged oversight is said to have exposed Vaughn to extreme risk without regard for her safety. The filing emphasizes that such conduct involved "an extreme degree of risk" with awareness from Lady Lash Professional about the potential harm their actions could cause.

Vaughn is seeking monetary relief exceeding $1 million for damages incurred due to this incident. Her demands include compensation for past and future medical expenses, lost wages and earning capacity, pain and suffering, mental anguish, impairment, attorney fees, and punitive damages. Additionally, she has requested pre-judgment and post-judgment interest along with court costs.

Representing Vaughn are attorneys Niles Sneed (State Bar No. 24105043), Brit Mitchell (State Bar No. 24098907), and Emily Faber Vechan (State Bar No. 24087488) from Sneed|Mitchell LLP located in Houston. The case is being heard in Harris County District Court under Case ID 2025-26988 with Judge Rhonda Momon presiding over Court: 215.
