Julia Seidelin has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Patrick Hsu, alleging medical negligence and battery following a cosmetic surgery that left her with severe disfigurement. The complaint was filed on March 7, 2025, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas.

The case revolves around a series of plastic surgery procedures performed by Dr. Hsu on May 12, 2023. Julia Seidelin claims she consented to specific surgeries, including a Brazilian Butt Lift and liposuction, but did not authorize additional procedures such as "4D highlighting" which resulted in significant disfigurement. Despite signing consent forms for certain procedures on May 11 and 12, 2023, Seidelin asserts that she never agreed to the high-definition liposculpture that Dr. Hsu performed. She further alleges that the JPlasma procedure she paid for was not conducted at all.

In response to her concerns post-surgery, Seidelin claims Dr. Hsu's office misled her into believing all agreed-upon procedures were completed and offered a partial refund. During a follow-up consultation in November 2023, Dr. Hsu reportedly admitted performing the high-definition procedure without informed consent and indicated it was standard practice for his patients.

Seidelin's petition includes expert testimony from Dr. John M. Shamoun, who examined her in April 2024 and noted permanent disfigurement due to unconsented procedures. He emphasized the necessity of obtaining explicit informed consent for such surgeries, which he states was not provided by Dr. Hsu.

Seidelin is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but less than $1 million for damages related to physical pain, mental anguish, and future medical expenses stemming from the alleged negligence and unauthorized medical battery by Dr. Hsu. She also seeks exemplary damages due to what she describes as gross negligence.

The case is being handled by attorney Joseph Walker from Franklin Mosele & Walker P.C., with Judge Marilyn Burgess presiding over the proceedings under Case ID: 2025-15683.
