A Texas resident is embroiled in a legal battle after an unfortunate incident involving two aggressive dogs left him with severe injuries. Eulalio Zamora filed a lawsuit against Courtney Friedman in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on March 27, 2025. The complaint alleges that Friedman's negligence led to Zamora being attacked by her dogs.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on April 12, 2023, when Zamora was delivering food to Friedman's residence at 14427 Force St., Houston. According to the complaint, after completing the delivery, Friedman's two large dogs escaped and attacked Zamora despite her assurances that they were harmless. "Defendant assured Plaintiff that her dogs did not bite," the petition states. However, as Zamora made his way back to his vehicle, the dogs launched a violent attack on him. The plaintiff claims Friedman failed to restrain or control her pets and neglected to assist him during or after the ordeal.

Zamora's lawsuit accuses Friedman of negligence and negligence per se. He asserts that she had a duty to exercise reasonable care in managing her dogs but failed in several respects: failing to confine or control them, neglecting to warn him of their aggressive nature, and violating local ordinances designed to prevent such incidents. Specifically, he cites breaches of Sections 6-3 and 6-101(a) of the City of Houston Ordinances and Section 822.041 of the Texas Health and Safety Code regarding animal control.

In terms of relief sought, Zamora is asking for monetary compensation exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million for damages including past and future physical pain and suffering, medical expenses, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, and exemplary damages due to gross negligence. He also seeks pre-judgment interest and court costs.

Representing Zamora are attorneys Demetris Guzman (Texas No. 24125262), Dominick D. Dunlap (Texas Bar No. 24112356), and Marco Gonzalez (Texas Bar No. 24087601) from The Gonzalez Law Group PLLC based in Houston. The case has been assigned Case ID 2025-20604 under Judge Monica Jackson in the Harris County District Court.
