Zion Destiny Davis has taken legal action against two security companies following a shocking incident that left her injured. On April 25, 2025, Davis filed a complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, accusing Gallagher Security Service Inc. and Gallagher Security USA Inc. of negligence and premises liability.

The case stems from an incident on April 27, 2023, when Davis was electrocuted while closing a gate at IAA Houston, located at 2535 W Mt. Houston Road in Houston, Texas. According to the complaint, both Gallagher Security Service Inc., a domestic corporation based in Texas, and Gallagher Security USA Inc., a foreign corporation from Illinois authorized to operate in Texas, own and control the security fence where the accident occurred.

Davis alleges that the defendants failed to maintain their property safely and allowed a dangerous condition to persist. The lawsuit claims that an electrical malfunction caused a surge that delivered an electric shock to Davis as she attempted to close the gate after her shift. As a result of this electrocution, Davis sustained significant injuries requiring medical attention.

The plaintiff's complaint outlines several accusations against the defendants under two main causes of action: premises liability and negligence. It is alleged that the defendants had control over the premises and were responsible for correcting any defects or dangerous conditions but failed to do so. "Defendants negligently created a dangerous condition on the Property," states the complaint, further accusing them of not exercising reasonable care despite knowing about the hazardous situation.

Davis seeks monetary relief exceeding $250,000 for damages including physical pain, mental anguish, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, medical expenses, and damages resulting from physical impairment. The plaintiff also requests prejudgment and post-judgment interest on past damages at the highest rate allowed by law and aims to recover all taxable court costs incurred during this litigation process.

Representing Zion Destiny Davis is attorney Willie D. Powells III from Law Offices of Willie D. Powells III & Associates PLLC. The case is filed under Case ID 2025-29279 in Harris County's 190th Judicial District Court with Judge Monica Jackson presiding over it.
