In a gripping legal battle unfolding in Harris County, Texas, an individual has filed a lawsuit against several entities, alleging negligence and seeking substantial damages. On May 5, 2025, Sharvaca First initiated this legal action by filing a complaint in the District Court of Harris County against Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce, Inc., Tier One Texas, LLC doing business as Tier One Security, Indio Properties LLC doing business as Indio Management, among others.

The plaintiff, Sharvaca First, claims that on May 5, 2023, she suffered personal injuries while visiting The Redford Apartments in Houston. She alleges that the management wrongfully accused her of squatting and called law enforcement to remove her from the premises. Despite being informed by the constable that she did not have to leave, a security guard employed by the defendants allegedly attacked her. As a result of this incident, First claims to have sustained severe physical and emotional injuries. The lawsuit accuses the defendants of failing to maintain safe premises and for negligence leading to her injuries. The plaintiff argues that these actions constitute violations under Texas law regarding premises liability and negligence.

Sharvaca First is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 for past and future damages including physical pain, mental anguish, lost wages, medical expenses, and loss of enjoyment of life. Additionally, she seeks prejudgment and post-judgment interest on these damages at the highest rate allowed by law. The plaintiff also requests that all defendants be held accountable for their alleged negligence through punitive damages.

Representing Sharvaca First is attorney Willie D. Powells III from the Law Offices of Willie D. Powells III and Associates PLLC. The case is presided over by judges in the Judicial District Court with Case ID: 2025-31038.
