Ella Thibodeaux has taken legal action against two property management companies, alleging negligence that led to her sustaining severe injuries. The complaint was filed by Thibodeaux on May 2, 2025, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, against MPTP Properties, LLC and MPTP Management, LLC.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on June 24, 2023, when Thibodeaux visited King Best Mall located at 5090 Griggs Road in Houston. According to the petition, she slipped and fell due to a large gap near the threshold of a bathroom floor within the premises owned and managed by the defendants. As a result of this fall, Thibodeaux claims to have suffered injuries to her bilateral knees, right hip, and right shoulder. The plaintiff argues that the defendants were aware or should have been aware of the hazardous condition and failed to rectify it or provide adequate warning. She asserts that her actions did not contribute to the accident and holds MPTP Properties and MPTP Management accountable under premises liability law for failing to maintain safe conditions.

Thibodeaux is seeking monetary compensation exceeding $1 million for various damages she attributes directly to the defendants' negligence. These damages include physical pain and disfigurement, mental anguish both past and future, lost earnings and diminished earning capacity, physical impairment as well as past and future medical expenses. Additionally, she requests pre-judgment interest from the date of the incident until judgment is rendered and post-judgment interest until payment is made.

Representing Ella Thibodeaux are attorneys Anuj Kapur and Andy Rubenstein from D. Miller & Associates PLLC. The case is identified with Cause No. 2025-31049 in Court 281 of Harris County District Court.
