A total of 11 new lawsuits relating to hurricane damage claims were filed against insurance companies in Jefferson County District Court during the week of June 1 through June 5.
The following complaints were filed relating to Hurricane Ike:
John S. Morgan of 1605 Weston Court in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association underpaid his claim for windstorm damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. RHM Corp., doing business as La Suprema Tortilla Bakery, of 1319 South 24 ½ St. in Nederland alleges Truck Insurance Exchange failed to investigate its claim for business losses it sustained while it was forced to remain shut down from Sept. 11 through Sept. 20 due to Hurricane Ike. Norwood and Dianna Landry of 5312 13th St. in Port Arthur alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for wind and water damage caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13. TWIA denied the claim after its Vice President of Claims Reggie Warren assigned Four Seasons Claims Service and adjusters Jeffrey Vaughan, Micah Carlson, Clint Petzold and Michael Elvington to investigate.
