A total of seven new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, Feb. 15-19, 2010.
The following complaints were filed:
Darrell and Marilyn Antwine of 290 Rosine St. in Beaumont allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied their claim for roof, water, wind and structural damages caused to their home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Antwines will be represented by Michael R. Ramsey of The Mostyn Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A186-082.
Dan and Pamela Brinkley of 200 Dorothy Drive in Nederland allege Texas Windstorm Insurance Association failed to properly investigate or timely pay their claim for damages caused to their home after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Brinkleys will be represented by E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-985.
Alan and Priscilla Davenport of 2405 Pecos St. in Beaumont allege Fire Insurance Exchange failed to properly investigate or timely pay their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The Davenports will be represented by E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D185-983.
Bryan and Susan Gray of 4129 Backridge Road in Sabine Pass claim Allstate Insurance Company did not sufficiently pay them for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Despite the fact that the couple requested adequate flood coverage, they say Allstate and its employee, Frank Pritchard, failed to provide it before the hurricane struck. The Grays will be represented by Kenneth W. Lewis of Bush Lewis in Beaumont and by Scott Renick of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: B185-930.
Lawrence and Sheila James of 2648 17th St. in Port Arthur allege Fire Insurance Exchange failed to properly investigated and timely pay their claim for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The James will be represented by E. Hart Green of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-984.
James and Tricia Keene of 10045 Joshua Court in Beaumont allege Larry Larousse Insurance Agency refused to pay them for damages caused to their property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. The insurance agency refused to pay for the damages because it failed to procure the coverage requested by the Keenes and failed to mail a premium to a reputable insurance company before the hurricane struck, according to the complaint. The Keenes will be represented by Matthew C. Matheny of Provost and Umphrey Law Firm in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: E185-979.
Mary Ellen Krebs of 4700 McKinley Ave. in Groves Texas Windstorm Insurance Association failed to properly investigate or timely pay her claim for damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
