HOUSTON – A recent visitor to an apartment complex near Houston’s Uptown neighborhood has pursued legal action against the property over a trip and fall incident she experienced more than a month ago.

Recent Harris County District Court records show that Sherrie Sheppard filed a lawsuit against the Tuscany Court Corp. on Feb. 7 in the 295th District Court. According to Sheppard, she disembarked from an elevator and headed to the parking garage on the defendant’s premises located at 1901 Augusta Dr. on Dec. 30, 2018 when she “tripped over a mat that has been placed in the doorway to keep the door open because the security lock was broken.”

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Austin Rudy of the Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
