HOUSTON — A Harris County customer is suing Aldi, alleging she was injured in a slip and fall at the defendant's store in Houston.

Frezwed Gebrehiwat filed a complaint Aug. 23 in the Harris County District Court against Aldi Stores LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on July 23, Gebrehiwat  was at the Aldi's store, 3601 Highway 6 South, Houston. The plaintiff said she was returning items at the register when she slipped and fell on liquid that had been negligently left on the ground near where an Aldi employee had used a manual forklift to move a pallet with watermelons. The plaintiff alleges she sustained serious physical injuries from the fall that led to pain and suffering, medical expenses and future loss of earning capacity.

Gebrehiwat seeks monetary relief up to $100,000, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all just relief. She is represented by attorney Charles T. Devine of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
