HOUSTON — A Houston attorney and her firm are facing a breach of contract suit from a fellow attorney claiming he is owed payment for referral cases.

Jamall Miller filed a complaint  Dec. 23 in the Harris County District Court against Sara Doezema and Doezema & Associates PLLC alleging breach of contract, fraud and violation of the Texas Uniform Fraudulent Transfers Act.

Miller was a former employer of Doezema and alleges in his complaint that Doezema had agreed to pay him for cases he settled and referred to her firm. He claims Doezema agreed to pay 50 percent of the attorney fees her firm received for the cases referred by Miller but refuses to provide him with payment.

Miller seeks monetary relief of between $75,000 and $100,000 in litigation costs, $50,000 in exemplary damages, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Bart Aldrich of The Aldrich Legal Group PLLC in San Antonio.
