HOUSTON — A Texas company is claiming a petroleum industry business disclosed and stole their technology designed for alternative fracking methods.

Robert Harris, Ron Cope and Bulk Trans-Load Authority LLC filed a complaint Jan. 21 in the Harris County District Court against Hi-Crush Inc., and others alleging breach of non-disclosure agreement, breach of confidence and fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy and fraud.

The plaintiffs and Hi-Crush agreed to a joint venture in 2011 where Hi-Crush would supply capital but agreed not disclose any of the plaintiff's logistics technology information involving their newly developed alternative methods of fracking. The plaintiffs claim that in July of 2019 after discontinuing the agreement, Hi-Crush began to seek its own patent using their technology and began selling the technology through its company called PropX.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Derrick Boyd, Allen Williamson and Jesse King of Boyd Powers & Williamson in Decatur, Texas.
