BEAUMONT – A Nederland woman is seeking up to $200,000 in damages for injuries she allegedly received nearly two years ago when she slipped and fell at an American Legion.

Sally Johnson filed suit against American Legion Post 7 on Jan. 28 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on March 22, 2018, Johnson was at the Port Arthur American Legion when “she slipped and fell over a ledge on the floor.”

Johnson claims there were no signs to warn of the “unreasonably dangerous condition,” which caused her fall and resulted in “catastrophic injuries.”

Johnson is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, loss of earnings, impairment, pain, mental anguish and disfigurement.

Beaumont attorney Jonathan Juhan represents her.

Judge Justin Sanderson, 60th District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. B-205246
