BEAUMONT – A slip and fall lawsuit against Kroger has been continued.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Karl Yancy filed suit against Kroger Food Stores Texas on April 20, 2018 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Feb. 19, 2017, Yancy was shopping at a Beaumont Kroger’s when he slipped on a grainy white substance and fell by the register.

He claims Kroger negligently failed to inspect and maintain the store.

Court records show that on Feb. 13 an agreed motion for continuance was presented to the court. The following day, the case was continued until a later date as to be determined by the court.

The plaintiff is represented by Mark Frasher of Reaud Morgan & Quinn.

Judge Mitch Templeton, 172nd District Court, is presiding over the case.
