ALBILENE — The owner of an oil and gas industry consultant company is claiming libel after former business partners published "wanted posters" of him in local newspapers following a business dispute.

Stacey Harrison and Harrison Lease Acquisition & Development Corp., filed a complaint  Feb. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas Albilene Division against Aztec Well Servicing Co., Inc., Triple Trucking Inc., and others alleging slander, tortious interference with existing contract, business disparagement, intentional infliction of emotional distress and libel.

According to the complaint, Harrison and the defendants worked together on several oil wells throughout West Texas. He alleges that when one of his consulting clients decided not to renew their contact with Aztec Wells, the defendants began a "smear campaign" against him and his business. Harrison claims the defendants published "wanted posters" and contacted his clients alleging false claims that resulted in a nearly $1 million loss of business deals.

Harrison seeks monetary, relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Bruce Akerly and Carrie McNair of Akerly Law PLLC in Coppell.
