GALVESTON — A couple is suing Taylor Morrison claiming the builder knew of the construction defects in their home and other homes throughout their subdivison that caused mold infestation.

Leroy Ventress and Tammi Ventress filed a complaint March 3 in the Galveston County District Court against Taylor Morrison of Texas Inc., and Taylor Woodrow Communities-League City LTD alleging breach of implied warranties, negligent construction, fraud and breach of contract.

The plaintiffs purchased a home on March 22, 2016 in a master-planned community in League City built by Taylor Morrison. They allege that the defendants knew of the mold issues due to construction defects in the roof, attic, HVAC and showers of their home as well as numerous other homes in their subdivision. The plaintiffs claim their whole subdivision is under construction and the streets "filled with dumpsters" due to the reconstruction of the homes with mold infestation.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by A. Craig Eiland of Eiland & Bonnin PC in Galveston, Shaun Hodge of The Hodge Law Firm PLLC in Galveston and Dax Faubus of The Gaubus Firm in Houston.
