BEAUMONT – A slip and fall lawsuit recently brought against Lowe’s is seeking more than $1 million in damages.

Through The Ferguson Law Firm, Marian and Kenneth Taylor filed their suit on Feb. 24 in Jefferson County District Court, also naming Shawn Wallace as a defendant.

According to the lawsuit, on Nov. 23, 2018, Marian was a customer at the Port Arthur Lowe’s. She was walking through the store when she “slipped on a slippery substance.”

“There were no warning signs in the area … warning of the slippery substance,” the suit states, adding that Wallace was the manager at the time.

As a result of her fall, Marian allegedly sustained serious injuries to her head, legs, back and neck.

The suit is accusing the defendants of “negligently and carelessly” failing to warn her of the dangerous condition.

Marian is suing for her alleged past and future medical expenses, pain, mental anguish, impairment and disfigurement.

Her husband, Kenneth, is suing for his alleged past and future mental anguish, loss of consortium and loss of household services.

Ferguson Law attorney Timothy Ferguson represents them.

Judge Justin Sanderson, 60th District Court, is presiding over the case.

Case No. B-205422
