HOUSTON – A popular eatery has been with a lawsuit alleging a woman suffered an allergic reaction while dining.

Seeking up to $100,000 in damages, Olita Kambourellis filed suit against Front Burner Restaurants (Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar) on May 17 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on April 21 Kambourellis was a patron at the Katy Whiskey Cake. Prior to placing her order, she informed restaurant staff that she was allergic to certain kinds of spices.

However, the restaurant staff allegedly “failed to heed her warnings” and when she bit into the “spice-laden food, she suffered an allergic reaction.”

Kambourellis is suing for her past and future medical expenses, pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, impairment and loss of earnings.

Houston attorney Alan Kolodny represents her.
