HOUSTON – A San Antonio woman claims her stay at a Houston hotel has resulted in more than 2,000 bedbug bites.

Seeking more than $1 million in damages, Mari Eisenbarger filed suit against Wyndam Hotel on June 1 in Harris County District Court.

According to her lawsuit, on Sept. 4, 2019, Eisenbarger stayed at the Wyndam Hotel in Houston for one night. She returned to San Antonio the next morning to find she had bedbugs.

“The City of Houston inspected the room at the hotel the next day and found that it was infested with bedbugs,” the suit states. “Client states she had over 2,000 bites and had been extremely lethargic. Client has been referred to infectious disease.”

Eisenbarger is alleging Gross negligence and is seeking an award of exemplary damages.
