BEAUMONT – Depositions are being sought after a man suffered a permanent disfigurement to his finger while working for Optimus Steel.

Through The Ferguson Law Firm, Todd Glaze filed a petition for authorization to conduct Rule 202 Depositions on June 23 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the petition, on May 8 Glaze was running a rebar stretcher when “suddenly and unexpectedly” the dumping tray came down, causing him to lose his middle finger.

Since the injury, Glaze has undergone two surgeries and lost most of the finger.

The petition asserts the injury was the result of a defect and/or lack of a safety mechanism in the rebar stretcher.

“Cody Dishon and I are proud to represent Todd Glaze – he’s a young hardworking man who was injured as a result of defective machinery and a lack of safety measures,” said Glaze’s attorney, Tim Ferguson. “Due to his injuries, Todd suffered through two surgeries and ultimately lost his finger.

“No man deserves that. We’ll get Todd the justice he deserves.”

Glaze’s petition also includes a request for production and seeks all documents, records and tangible evidence related to the incident.

Judge Mitch Templeton, 172nd District Court, has been assigned to the case.

Case No. E-205896
