BEAUMONT - Mark Sparks of The Ferguson Law Firm has been elected to membership in the Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation.

Fellows are selected for their outstanding professional achievements and their demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the justice system throughout the state of Texas. Election is a mark of distinction and recognition of Sparks’ contributions to the legal profession.

“I am honored and humbled by this selection,” Sparks said. “We try to support our community and help our neighbors. This recognition shows we have succeeded.”

Selection as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation is restricted to members of the State Bar of Texas. Each year the top one-third of one percent of Texas attorneys are invited to become Fellows. Once nominees are selected, they must be elected by the Texas Bar Foundation.

The Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the country. It has distributed more than $20 million throughout Texas to assist nonprofit organizations.

Sparks is the immediate past-president of the Jefferson County Bar Association and has been previously honored as ‘Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year’. He joins three other members of The Ferguson Law Firm as Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation: Chip Ferguson, Jane Leger and Larry Hunter.
