HOUSTON – Roxell Richards & Associates has been hit with a legal malpractice lawsuit accusing the law firm of settling a lawsuit without consent.

Seeking no more than $200,000 in damages, April Holmes filed the suit Oct. 5 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, Holmes, a 27-year old with limited knowledge of the American legal system, was injured in a car wreck in March 2018. She retained Roxell Richards & Associates, which settled the case without consent.

The suit accuses the firm of forging the plaintiff’s signature and lying about settling the case.

“Thereafter, Defendant engaged in a scam to stall and misinform Plaintiff about the true status of her legal case,” the suit states.

The plaintiff is suing for actual and exemplary damages.

The Legendary Law Group represents her.
