HOUSTON – Most Texans don’t look forward to a trip to the Department of Public Safety, and for Bruce Gaible his trip to renew his license actually resulted in a trip and fall in a DPS parking lot.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Gaible filed suit against the DPS on Oct. 14 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 28, 2018, Gaible traveled to a Houston DPS to renew his driver’s license. After exiting his vehicle, his feet became entangled on some wire, causing him to fall and fracture his right femur.

“Plaintiff did not know about the dangerous condition,” the suit states. “Plaintiff did not know that his feet had become entangled in the wire until after he fell on the pavement.”

Gaible is suing for his pain, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The Law Offices of Bennie D. Rush represent him.
