HOUSTON – Balch & Bingham is pleased to announce that Eric Holland has joined the firm as partner in the Banking & Financial Services and Energy Practices in Houston. As the fifth partner to join the firm’s Houston office this year, Eric’s arrival signifies Balch’s continued growth and expansion in Texas.

Eric represents international, national and regional lenders and borrowers in domestic and cross-border secured and unsecured credit facilities and other financial transactions. Eric also has extensive experience in representing lenders and borrowers in the energy industry, including upstream, midstream, downstream and oilfield services. Additionally, he has also worked on matters involving the work-out, restructuring and bankruptcies of several facilities, and he is well versed in financial programs promulgated under the CARES Act.

“I’m excited to welcome Eric to our team. A respected attorney within the Houston market, Eric is recognized for his commercial approach to handling transactions and getting deals done smoothly. Along with our other Houston-based partners, Eric will play a significant role in growing our banking, financial services and energy capabilities in Texas,” said Philip Dunlap, Houston Office Managing Partner.

“Eric brings additional strength in commercial lending that our clients will find invaluable. He is an outstanding addition to our growing team,” said John Pickering, co-chair, Banking & Financial Services Practice.

Eric is a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow and a member of the Fund Finance Association. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and B.A. from The George Washington University.

“I’m thrilled to join the team and could not be prouder to be a part of the exciting growth of the Houston office. The firm’s overall strength and recognition in banking and finance made for a really attractive platform for someone like me who has a more traditional bank-facing lending practice,” said Eric.

Balch’s Houston office, which opened in January of 2020, includes attorneys with significant experience in domestic and international oil and gas and energy transactions, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and corporate compliance, securities transactions, creditors rights and bankruptcy and real estate, and now, domestic and cross-border commercial lending. Eric’s arrival follows the recent additions of Creditors Rights & Bankruptcy Team of Lloyd A. Lim and Rachel Thompson Kubanda in Houston.
