The lawsuit filed by Harris County, Texas against Breona Jhernique Gayle Haley was lodged in the County Civil Court at Law No. 1, with the case ID 172611, on an unspecified date. The suit revolves around damages allegedly caused by Haley to public property in a vehicular accident.

Represented by an unidentified attorney, Harris County alleges that on March 3, 2023, Haley's vehicle was involved in an accident on the North Sam Houston Toll Road West. The defendant reportedly failed to control her speed and maintain a single lane of traffic, resulting in damage to crash barrels owned by the county. The cost of these damages is estimated at $1,722.05.

Harris County further asserts that despite multiple demands for reimbursement sent through its Human Resources and Risk Management division, the outstanding amount remains unpaid. This has led to the initiation of this lawsuit.

In its plea for judgment, Harris County seeks compensation for the damages incurred due to Haley's alleged negligence. The plaintiff accuses Haley of several violations including failure to maintain a single marked lane, control speed, keep a proper lookout, timely apply brakes, maintain proper control of the vehicle and take evasive action to avoid collision. Furthermore, she is accused of driver inattention and lack of financial responsibility.
