Katiuska Gibson has filed a lawsuit against Gran Colombia Restaurante, Inc., claiming negligence after a slip-and-fall incident that resulted in serious injuries. The complaint was filed on November 1, 2024, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. Gibson accuses the restaurant of failing to maintain safe premises and not warning her about a wet floor that caused her fall.

The incident occurred on September 26, 2024, when Katiuska Gibson visited Gran Colombia Restaurante's location at 5210 Farm to Market 2920 in Spring, Texas. While walking near the bakery department, she slipped on a wet floor that had not been marked with any warning signs. As a result of this fall, Gibson sustained significant injuries requiring medical attention both at present and anticipated in the future. She alleges that the restaurant's management and staff were aware or should have been aware of the hazardous condition but neglected to take necessary precautions or inform patrons like herself.

Gibson’s legal claim centers around premises liability, asserting that Gran Colombia Restaurante failed to uphold its duty as a property owner to ensure visitor safety by maintaining its floors properly and providing adequate warnings about potential dangers. Her petition outlines several points of negligence: failure to keep the premises safe, inadequate inspection and correction of hazards, and lack of communication regarding existing risks. These failures are claimed to be direct causes of her injuries.

In seeking justice from the court, Gibson requests compensation for damages exceeding $200,000 but not more than $1 million. She is asking for monetary relief covering past and future pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, physical impairment, medical expenses incurred due to her injuries, as well as pre-judgment and post-judgment interest on these amounts. Furthermore, she demands a jury trial to determine the outcome.

Representing Katiuska Gibson are attorneys Taylor W. Harper and Michael D. Brennan from Harper Law Firm based in San Antonio. The case is filed under Case ID 93856381 with Marilyn Burgess serving as District Clerk for Harris County.
