John Martinez has filed a lawsuit against Klaussner Furniture Industries, Inc. and Mattress Firm, Inc. in the District Court of Harris County, Texas. The case, bearing the ID 2024-21 998 and presided over by court 157, was filed on April 8, 2024.

Martinez alleges that he sustained injuries due to a defective bed frame manufactured by Klaussner Furniture Industries and sold by Mattress Firm. He is represented by Joshua Hall while the defendants can be served through their registered agent, CT Corporation System.

The plaintiff claims that the Enso Sleep Systems Deluxe Raised Metal Platform Frame Twin Prime, SKU No. V000099756, often collapses due to a defect in its frame design. This defect allegedly led to severe injury for Martinez when the bed frame collapsed on April 11, 2023.

Seeking monetary relief exceeding $1,000,000 as per Rule 47 of the Texas Rules of Procedure, Martinez accuses both defendants of being aware of the product's defect but failing to warn consumers about it. The court asserts jurisdiction over this case as the damages fall within its jurisdictional limits and venue is proper in Harris County where part or all of the cause of action occurred.
