In a lawsuit filed on May 3, 2024, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Case ID: 2024-28619), plaintiff Kenneth Murray is suing Spanish Village Apartments for damages. The case revolves around an incident that occurred on July 3, 2023, where Murray allegedly slipped and fell due to a water leak from an air conditioning unit at the defendant's premises.

The plaintiff, represented by Taiasha Bradford, alleges that the accident happened on the defendant's property located at 4000 Griggs Rd, Houston, TX 77021. The suit claims that the defendant was aware of the dangerous condition caused by the recently serviced air conditioning unit but failed to warn about it. As a result of this negligence, Murray suffered serious bodily injuries.

Murray is seeking compensation for his injuries in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits. He contends that he was an invitee at Spanish Village Apartments when he encountered the hazardous condition which resulted in his fall and subsequent injuries. The plaintiff argues that as an invitee, the defendant owed him a duty to inspect and maintain their premises in a reasonably safe manner.

Murray asserts that Spanish Village Apartments' negligence directly led to his damages. He further claims that customers had previously notified the defendant about similar dangerous conditions on their premises. The lawsuit also includes demands for substitution of true names under Rule 28 of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure if Spanish Village Apartments is operating under an assumed name.
