In a dramatic legal turn, a Houston resident has filed a lawsuit against a major automotive group following an incident that left him with severe injuries. On April 24, 2025, Stefante Goodall initiated legal proceedings in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, against Group 1 Automotive, Inc., alleging negligence and premises liability after slipping on an unmarked wet floor at one of their dealerships.

The complaint outlines that on January 23, 2024, Goodall was visiting the Hyundai Dealership located at 10301 Southwest Freeway in Houston when he encountered a hazardous condition—a liquid spill on the floor that was not visible to him. As a result of this slip and fall accident, Goodall sustained significant bodily injuries. According to the petition filed by his attorney Giovanni Padilla from The Z&P Law Group, PLLC, Goodall was an invitee on the property and argues that Group 1 Automotive failed in its duty to maintain safe premises for its customers.

Goodall's petition accuses Group 1 Automotive of several acts of negligence including failing to maintain pedestrian floors safely, neglecting to warn about the dangerous condition, allowing the floor to remain hazardous without taking corrective measures, and failing to properly train or supervise employees responsible for maintaining safety standards. The lawsuit emphasizes that these failures were proximate causes of Goodall’s injuries and claims that Group 1 Automotive had sufficient knowledge or should have been aware of the dangerous conditions present at their premises.

Seeking justice and compensation for his ordeal, Goodall is demanding monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million. The damages sought cover past and future medical expenses, physical pain and suffering both past and future, loss of earnings and earning capacity, as well as loss of household services. Additionally, Goodall has requested a jury trial to resolve these claims.

Representing Stefante Goodall is attorney Giovanni Padilla from The Z&P Law Group based in Katy, Texas. The case has been assigned to Judge Monica Jackson under Case ID 2025-28708 in the Harris County District Court.
