Family sues Silverado Hermann Park for alleged negligence leading to man's death

Judy Ellis and Tamasine Ellis have filed a lawsuit against Silverado Hermann Park, LLC, WT Propco Member Holdco, Inc., Trumen Physicians & Associates, PLLC, Christopher Merkl, MD, Hawa Stinson, FNP, and Suleman Lalani, MD. The case is being heard in the District Court of Harris County, Texas under court case ID 2024-29365. The lawsuit was filed on May 7, 2024.

The plaintiffs allege that Michael Ellis suffered severe injuries and ultimately died due to the negligence of the defendants while he was under their care at Silverado Hermann Park Memory Care Community. The plaintiffs' attorney is Troy O’Brien from Farrar & Ball LLP. Michael Ellis experienced multiple falls and inadequate medical attention during his stay from January 31 to April 24, 2022. His injuries included a brain hemorrhage and pneumonia leading to his death on May 26, 2022.

The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory damages for medical expenses, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, funeral costs, loss of consortium, and punitive damages. They estimate the damages to be between $250,000 and $1 million.
