Marie Rodriguez has filed a lawsuit against Shadowlake Owner, LLC doing business as Knox at Westchase Apartments and Knightvest, LLC in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Case ID: 2024-29306) on May 7, 2024. The lawsuit arises from an incident where Rodriguez allegedly slipped and fell on wet paint on the stairs at her apartment complex, resulting in severe injuries.

On July 17, 2003, Rodriguez was descending the stairs with her dog when she slipped due to wet paint that lacked adequate warning signs. This incident occurred at Knox at Westchase Apartments, owned and managed by the defendants. Plaintiff's attorneys are Tiffany Pennington and Taylor Gamboa from Aaron Brian White & Associates, P.C., while the defendants have not yet listed their legal representation.

Rodriguez is seeking damages for medical expenses (past and future), physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement, court costs, and exemplary damages. She claims that the defendants failed to maintain safe premises and provide necessary warnings about the dangerous condition.
