A Phoenix City resident has filed a lawsuit against two Texas-based companies, alleging negligence and premises liability after a ceiling collapse caused her serious injuries. Tiffiny Harden initiated the legal action on May 7, 2025, in Harris County District Court against TTXA II JV LLC and Raus Restoration, LLC.
According to the court documents, Harden claims that on July 23, 2024, while she was at the Vintage at 18th Street apartment complex in Houston, Texas, a portion of the ceiling unexpectedly collapsed on her. The complaint states that the hazardous condition was neither marked nor visible to Harden prior to the incident. As a result of this event, she sustained significant injuries and consequential damages. The plaintiff argues that the defendants were aware or should have been aware of the dangerous condition due to its prolonged existence and failed to take necessary precautions such as marking or repairing it.
Harden's petition outlines several accusations against TTXA II JV LLC and Raus Restoration, LLC. She asserts that their managers and employees either directly created or negligently allowed the hazardous condition to persist without adequate warning or remediation. The plaintiff accuses them of violating established safety policies and procedures meant to ensure a safe environment for invitees like herself. In failing these duties, Harden alleges that the defendants breached their duty of care owed to her as an invitee on their premises.
The lawsuit seeks monetary relief ranging from $50,000 to $1 million for damages including physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, physical impairment, disfigurement, medical expenses both past and future, as well as pre-judgment and post-judgment interest at the highest rate permitted by law. Additionally, Harden demands compensation for lost household services due to her injuries.
Representing Tiffiny Harden is attorney Jeffrey N. Todd from The Todd Law Group PLLC based in Houston. The case is presided over by Judge Chandra Lawson in Harris County's 269th Judicial District Court under Case ID 2025-32303.
