Jo Busceme Bruce has filed a lawsuit against Matthew Alan Marshal in the District Court of Harris County, Texas (Court Case ID: 2024-28999) on May 6, 2024. The lawsuit alleges that Marshal's negligent driving resulted in a hit-and-run incident causing significant injuries to Bruce.

On November 30, 2023, Bruce was struck by Marshal's vehicle while walking towards the entrance of a Kroger store located at 1950 El Dorado Boulevard in Houston, Texas. Bruce sustained severe injuries and incurred medical expenses due to the incident. Her attorneys, Fariha Jawed and David J. Beck from Beck Redden LLP, claim that Marshal failed to yield the right of way and neglected his duty as a driver.

Bruce is seeking monetary relief ranging from $250,000 to $1,000,000 for physical pain, suffering, mental anguish, and medical expenses. She also demands exemplary damages for gross negligence and requests pre-judgment and post-judgment interest along with costs of the suit.

Bruce seeks all applicable damages under law or equity, including exemplary damages due to Marshal's reckless disregard for her safety.
