A Harris County woman has filed a lawsuit against a local bar, alleging severe injuries from a fall on their premises. Teresa Crawford lodged the complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on July 16, 2024, targeting MicieloMidtown, LLC, doing business as Belle Station Bar.

The incident that prompted this legal action occurred on March 23, 2024. According to the court documents, Crawford was exiting Belle Station Bar at 207 Gray St., Houston when she tripped and fell due to an unlevel floor surface. The lawsuit claims there were no warning signs or indications of the hazardous condition. As a result of the fall, Crawford sustained serious injuries to her head, left leg, and right knee. She contends that the bar's management failed to maintain safe premises and neglected to warn patrons about potential dangers.

Crawford asserts that as an invitee at Belle Station Bar, she was owed a duty of care by the establishment. The lawsuit states that "Defendant knew or should have known of the unreasonably dangerous condition and neither corrected nor warned Plaintiff." It further alleges that MicieloMidtown’s negligence in maintaining their property directly led to her injuries. Specific accusations include failure to maintain safe walkways, inadequate inspection routines, and negligent hiring and training practices for employees.

The plaintiff is seeking monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million. This sum includes compensation for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, physical impairment and disfigurement, as well as lost wages and diminished earning capacity. Additionally, Crawford seeks pre-judgment and post-judgment interest along with all court costs.

Representing Teresa Crawford are attorneys Kiernan McAlpine and Jonathan Webster from Daspit Law Firm. The case is assigned Case ID 2024-44239 in the 129th District Court of Harris County under Judge Wanda Chambers.
