A Harris County resident has filed a lawsuit following a vicious dog attack at an apartment complex. Raul Gomez filed the complaint in the District Court of Harris County on August 22, 2024, against Pamala J. Hall, United Core Management Inc., and CAI Park at Tour 18 Owner I, LLC.

The incident occurred on September 19, 2022, when Gomez was walking around the hallway corner of the apartment building known as The Park at Tour 18. As he rounded the corner, Hall's large Staffordshire dog attacked him without warning. According to the complaint, "the Dog viciously attacked Plaintiff, knocking him to the floor where he was bit several times." Gomez claims that he suffered severe injuries due to this unprovoked attack.

Gomez asserts that all defendants had knowledge of the dog's aggressive tendencies from a prior biting incident but failed to take necessary precautions. He alleges that Hall, as the dog's owner and resident of the premises, should have exercised reasonable care to prevent such attacks. The plaintiff also holds United Core Management Inc., which manages the property, and CAI Park at Tour 18 Owner I, LLC., which owns it, responsible for ensuring safety measures were in place to protect residents and visitors.

The complaint outlines multiple counts of negligence against each defendant. Against Hall specifically, Gomez claims she failed to control her dog or warn others about its dangerous nature. "Defendant Hall owed Plaintiff...a duty to exercise reasonable care to prevent her Dog from injuring others," states the petition. Similarly, United Core Management Inc. is accused of not implementing safety guidelines or removing the dog after its first attack. The company allegedly failed "to provide effective safeguards where individuals...may be injured as a result of Defendants' conduct."

Gomez is seeking monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million for various damages including physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings, and medical expenses both past and future. He also demands pre-judgment and post-judgment interest along with court costs.

Representing Raul Gomez are attorneys Jason C. Webster (State Bar No. 24033318), Heidi O. Vicknair (State Bar No. 24046557), and Ryan S. MacLeod (State Bar No. 24068346) from Webster Vicknair Macleod law firm based in Houston.

Judge Patricia Jones will preside over this case under Case ID: 2024-55712 in Court: 127.
