A workplace accident has led to a significant legal battle in Harris County, Texas. On December 13, 2024, Robert Zepeda filed a complaint against Aramark Sports and Entertainment Services of Texas, LLC in the District Courts of Harris County. The lawsuit alleges negligence on the part of Aramark's employees that resulted in Zepeda suffering severe injuries.

The case centers around an incident that occurred on October 9, 2023, at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. Robert Zepeda was working at the venue when he slipped and fell on a greasy substance left on the floor by Aramark employees. According to the petition, this fall caused him serious bodily harm. Zepeda claims that Aramark failed to maintain a safe environment for its workers by not addressing or warning about the hazardous condition. "Defendant had a duty to Plaintiff to exercise ordinary care in preventing him from being exposed to unreasonably dangerous conditions while he was on the premises," states the complaint.

Zepeda accuses Aramark of negligence for not taking appropriate measures such as cleaning up the spill or warning employees about it. The plaintiff argues that Aramark's negligence directly led to his injuries and is seeking damages ranging from $250,000 to $1,000,000. He claims these damages are necessary to cover medical expenses, lost earnings, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, and impairment both past and future.

In addition to monetary compensation for his injuries and associated costs, Zepeda is demanding a jury trial. His legal team intends to use any documents produced by Aramark during discovery as evidence in court proceedings. The plaintiff's attorneys have also requested pre-judgment interest at the highest rate allowed by law along with other relief deemed just by the court.

Representing Robert Zepeda are attorneys Carlos A. Leon, Piero A. Garcia, and Lauren M. Esparza from The Leon Law Firm P.C., based in Sugar Land, Texas. The case has been assigned Case ID 2024-86683 and will be heard in front of Judge Jonathan Vela at the 334th Judicial District Court.
