A lawsuit has been filed in Harris County, Texas, alleging negligence and premises liability after a serious workplace accident. On December 27, 2024, Rodolfo Quintanilla initiated legal proceedings against Santos Romel Reyes, doing business as Reyes Contractors, LLC. The complaint was lodged in the District Court of Harris County.
According to the details outlined in the case, Rodolfo Quintanilla claims that he suffered significant injuries while employed as a painter at a job site managed by Santos Romel Reyes. The incident occurred in November 2023 at a location on West 25th Street in Houston. Quintanilla alleges that he tripped over improperly placed plastic coverings, resulting in severe bodily harm including a broken arm. The allegations include failing to maintain safe working conditions by allowing hazardous environments to persist without adequate warnings or corrective measures. Specifically, it is claimed that the defendant failed to keep pathways clear of obstacles and neglected necessary inspections and safety protocols. "Defendants owed Plaintiff a duty to exercise ordinary care," states the complaint, emphasizing their responsibility for ensuring a safe workspace and warning about potential dangers.
The plaintiff seeks monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but less than $1 million for damages encompassing medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and future earning capacity loss. Quintanilla also demands compensation for physical impairment and disfigurement resulting from the accident. Additionally, he requests pre-judgment and post-judgment interest along with court costs.
