In a gripping legal confrontation, a plaintiff has filed a lawsuit against a well-known restaurant chain following an incident that allegedly left her with serious injuries. Evangelina Arreola initiated the complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on January 17, 2025, targeting ACG Texas, LP and ACG Texas Restaurants, LLC as defendants.

The case revolves around an incident that occurred on May 24, 2023, at an IHOP Restaurant located at 11225 Katy Freeway in Houston. According to the plaintiff's account, she was dining at the establishment when she slipped on liquid present on the floor while being led to her table by one of the restaurant's employees. This fall resulted in severe bodily harm to Arreola. The plaintiff accuses the defendants of negligence and premises liability for failing to maintain a safe environment for their patrons. She claims that they negligently allowed dangerous conditions to persist by not keeping pathways clear of hazards or adequately inspecting and addressing potential risks. "Defendants owed Plaintiff a duty to exercise ordinary care," states the petition, emphasizing their responsibility to ensure safety and provide warnings about any dangers.

Arreola is seeking monetary relief not exceeding $75,000 as per Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 47(c). This sum encompasses damages of various kinds including medical expenses both past and future, pain and suffering endured due to the accident, lost wages along with diminished earning capacity going forward. Furthermore, she demands compensation for physical impairment and disfigurement sustained from this unfortunate event. The plaintiff also requests pre-judgment interest along with post-judgment interest should her claims be validated by court proceedings.

Representing Evangelina Arreola are attorneys Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh, Pavel “Paul” Savinov, and Michael Alvarez from Huynh Law PLLC based in Houston. The case is identified under Cause No. 2025-04886 and will be presided over by Judge Nelson Cuero in the 157th Judicial District Court.
