Cameron Fields has filed a lawsuit against a well-known hotel chain, alleging negligence and premises liability following a slip-and-fall incident that resulted in significant injuries. The complaint was lodged by Fields on March 7, 2025, in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, naming VHRMR Round Rock, Ltd., doing business as Hilton Homewood Suites, as the defendant.
According to the court documents, Cameron Fields claims that on December 30, 2024, while staying at the Hilton Homewood Suites located at 2201 S. Mays St., Round Rock, Texas, he slipped and fell due to water on the floor in one of the hotel's hallways. Fields asserts that there were no warning signs or indications of caution near the area where he fell. As an invitee of the hotel at the time of the incident, Fields argues that the hotel management should have been aware of this hazardous condition and either rectified it or warned him about it. "Defendant knew or should have known of the reasonably dangerous condition," states Fields in his petition.
Fields accuses VHRMR Round Rock Ltd. of several acts of negligence including failure to maintain safe premises, inadequate inspection and correction of hazardous conditions, and failure to inform guests about potential dangers. Additionally, he claims negligent hiring and supervision practices contributed to his accident. The plaintiff argues these actions constitute negligence under Texas common law and seeks damages for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment and disfigurement, as well as lost wages.
In his plea for relief from the court, Cameron Fields is seeking monetary compensation exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million. He requests pre-judgment interest along with post-judgment interest on any awarded sum. Furthermore, Fields demands all legal costs be covered by VHRMR Round Rock Ltd., alongside any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.
Representing Cameron Fields are attorneys James E. Ramsey and Mitchell Yager from Daspit Law Firm based in San Antonio. The case has been assigned Case ID 2025-15741 under Judge Gerardo Perez in Harris County's 270th Judicial District Court.
