Jeffrey Craggy, a former employee of a media company, has filed a lawsuit alleging workplace discrimination and harassment. The complaint was lodged by Jeffrey Craggy in the District Court of Harris County, Texas, on March 6, 2025, against Argus Media Inc. Craggy claims that his rights were violated under the Texas Labor Code due to sex and disability discrimination and retaliation for protected activities.
The narrative of the case unfolds with Craggy's employment as a Senior Data Engineer at Argus Media beginning December 11, 2023. His role involved developing software systems and training employees. Shortly after starting his job, Craggy disclosed his gastrointestinal condition to his superiors, requesting accommodations such as a standing desk to manage his health needs. Despite assurances that such accommodations would be available by April 2024, they were not provided. Additionally, Craggy alleges he was sexually harassed by a colleague named Glenn Ray on January 19, 2024. He reported this incident to supervisors Karina Kuteliya and Vlasios Voudouris and HR representative Brooke Smith but claims no action was taken.
Craggy describes an ongoing hostile work environment where he faced unwanted physical proximity from Ray and unprofessional conduct from other coworkers. His requests for reasonable accommodations like remote work were denied despite support from his direct supervisor Kuteliya. The stress exacerbated his medical condition leading to more severe symptoms.
On April 19, 2024, during a Zoom meeting with the Global Data Group, Craggy publicly disclosed the harassment he faced which led to immediate retaliation. He was terminated four days later on April 23 under the pretext of failing to form relationships with coworkers—a reason he contends is retaliatory for his complaints about harassment.
In his legal filing, Craggy accuses Argus Media of creating a hostile work environment by ignoring sexual harassment complaints and failing to provide necessary accommodations for his disability. He argues that these actions violate multiple sections of the Texas Labor Code (§§21.051, 21.128, and 21.055). The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $250,600 but not more than $1 million for lost wages and benefits along with compensatory damages for emotional distress and mental anguish.
Representing Jeffrey Craggy are attorneys Erin Nowell and Taylor Jenkins from Carter Law Group PC based in Dallas, Texas. The case is presided over in the Harris County District Court under Case ID: 2025-15319.
