A slip-and-fall incident at a popular entertainment venue has led to a lawsuit, raising questions about premises safety and corporate responsibility. On March 13, 2025, Esther Bernal filed a complaint in the District Court of Harris County, Texas against Main Event Entertainment, Inc., alleging negligence after she suffered injuries on their property.
The case revolves around an incident that occurred on July 8, 2023, when Bernal visited Main Event Entertainment's premises located at 1125 Magnolia Ave., Webster, Texas. According to the complaint, while walking towards the exit, Bernal slipped and fell due to liquid on the floor. The plaintiff claims that Main Event Entertainment had actual or constructive knowledge of this hazardous condition but failed to address it or warn her about it. This alleged negligence resulted in substantial injuries for Bernal.
Bernal's legal team argues that Main Event Entertainment breached its duty of care by not maintaining a safe environment for its patrons. The complaint outlines several accusations against the defendant: failing to maintain the premises safely, neglecting to warn about dangerous conditions, allowing such conditions to persist, creating hazards themselves, inadequately training employees on safety protocols, and failing to inspect and remedy unsafe areas promptly. These actions are said to have directly caused Bernal's injuries.
The lawsuit seeks monetary relief exceeding $1,000 initially claimed under Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 47 but reserves the right to amend this amount as more information becomes available through discovery. The plaintiff is seeking compensation for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, disability and impairment losses both past and anticipated future ones—along with lost earnings capacity. Additionally, Bernal requests pre-judgment and post-judgment interest as permitted by law.
Represented by attorneys Bradley W. Tilton and Ryne C. Bazan from Tilton & Tilton LLP based in Houston; they have demanded a jury trial for this case (Case ID: 2025-17262) which will be presided over in Harris County’s 127th Judicial District Court.
