A workplace accident at a Houston high school has led to a lawsuit seeking over $1 million in damages. Luciano Guzman Barron filed the complaint on March 28, 2025, in Harris County against Sebastian Robert Dolan, alleging negligence following a serious injury on the job.

According to the court documents, Luciano Guzman Barron was working as a laborer under the employment of Sebastian Robert Dolan when he sustained severe injuries due to an incident involving a metal gate being dropped on his back by a fellow employee. The accident occurred on January 25, 2025, at Westbury High School in Houston, Texas. Barron claims that Dolan failed to provide adequate training and supervision for employees and did not ensure safe working conditions. The plaintiff's petition states that "Defendant's acts and/or omissions constitute negligence," which directly resulted in his injuries. Barron is pursuing this legal action under Texas common law, with jurisdiction established due to the incident occurring within Harris County.

The lawsuit details several accusations against Dolan, including failing to train and supervise employees properly, not recognizing or correcting unsafe conditions at the job site, and neglecting to provide adequate safety rules or procedures. Furthermore, it accuses Dolan of failing to inspect the job site adequately and furnish employees with safe tools and equipment. These alleged failures are said to have contributed significantly to the hazardous environment that led to Barron's injuries.

In terms of relief sought from the court, Barron is requesting monetary compensation exceeding $1 million for various damages. These include past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment and disfigurement, as well as lost wages and diminished earning capacity. Additionally, he seeks pre-judgment interest and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

The legal representation for Luciano Guzman Barron includes attorneys Sarah Y-Nhi Huynh from Huynh Law PLLC and Hilda Leonor Sibrian from The Law Offices of Hilda L. Sibrian PC. The case has been filed under Case ID 2025-21036 in the 80th Judicial District Court of Harris County.
