Leon Lopez, a resident of Harris County, Texas, has filed a lawsuit against Quick Quack Car Wash Holdings, LLC. The complaint was lodged on April 8, 2025, in the District Court of Harris County. Lopez alleges that the defendant's negligence led to a car wash accident resulting in personal injuries and damages exceeding the court's minimum jurisdictional limits.

The incident occurred on March 9, 2025, at Quick Quack Car Wash located at 1950 Cullen Boulevard in Houston. According to the plaintiff's petition, Lopez was operating her vehicle through the car wash when the machinery malfunctioned. This failure caused another vehicle to be propelled into hers, leading to a collision. Lopez claims she followed all instructions provided by the car wash employees and did nothing to contribute to the accident. The plaintiff argues that Quick Quack Car Wash Holdings failed in their duty of care by not properly inspecting or maintaining their equipment and by failing to implement safety protocols to prevent such accidents.

Lopez's legal team is pursuing recovery based on two primary theories: negligence and premises liability. They assert that Quick Quack Car Wash had a responsibility to ensure their machinery was safe for use and failed in this duty by allowing defective equipment to operate without adequate safety measures. Additionally, they claim that as an invitee on the premises, Lopez was exposed to unreasonable risks due to the faulty car wash equipment.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of less than $250,000 but specifically aims for a maximum recovery amount of $74,999.99. In addition to compensatory damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering (both past and future), mental anguish, and lost wages or income (past and future), Lopez requests pre-judgment interest from thirty days after sums are due until judgment is made. Post-judgment interest is also sought until full payment is rendered.

Representing Leon Lopez are attorneys Youssef Abdelhafiz (State Bar No. 24124056), David K. Mestemaker (State Bar No. 13974600), Norman Straub (State Bar No. 00793002), and Jonathan B. Zumwalt (State Bar No. 24053552) from Mestemaker, Straub & Zumwalt law firm based in Houston, Texas. The case is identified under Cause No. 2025-24354 and will be presided over by a judge from the 164th Judicial District Court in Harris County.
