A total of five new lawsuits against insurance companies over hurricane damage claims were filed in Jefferson County District Court, June 7-11, 2010.
The following complaints were filed:
Pure Purpose Inc., doing business as the Ya Ya Club, of 585 Wall St. in Beaumont alleges CMI Lloyds denied its claim for damages caused to its property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. CMI Lloyds denied the claim after it sent adjuster Booker Claims Service to investigate, according to the complaint. Pure Purpose will be represented by Scott Renick of Beaumont and by Kenneth W. Lewis of Bush Lewis in Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: D187-044.
Gloria Sells of 3068 Rockwell St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, structure, water and wind damages caused after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Sells will be represented by J. Steve Mostyn of The Mostyn Law Firm in Houston and by Michael R. Ramsey and Gregory F. Cox of Beaumont. Jefferson County District Court case number: A187-053.
Dawn Tezino of 1391 Threadneedle in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, structural, water and wind damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008. Billie Thomson of 18330 Old Highway 105 in Cleveland alleges Ranchers and Farmers Mutual Insurance Company denied his claim for damages caused to his property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008, and after severe hail damage sustained on March 25, 2009. Ranchers and Farmers denied the claim after it assigned adjuster Kevin Ferguson to investigate the claim, according to the complaint. Thomson will be represented by Jason B. Eleanor Till of 10920 Pinehaven St. in Beaumont alleges Texas Windstorm Insurance Association denied her claim for roof, wind, water, structural and foundation damages caused to her property after Hurricane Ike struck on Sept. 13, 2008.
