HOUSTON — A mechanic claims he is owed years of back wages for not being paid overtime.

Jonathan Press filed a complaint Aug. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas Houston Division against Pro Drive Axels and Jae Jung alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to his complaint, Press began working for Pro Drive and Jung in April of 2016 and is still employed with the defendants as a mechanic. Press claims he is required to work 48 hours each week and is paid a weekly rate but was not paid for overtime.

Press claims from April 2016 through April 2017, he was paid $450 at a "regular rate" of $9.38 and that he is owed an extra $37.52.

He further alleges that he is owed an additional $41.68 per week for hours worked from April 2017 through July of 2018, an additional $45.84 per week for his work from June 2018 to September 2018, as well as an extra $47.92 per week for his work from September 2018, to the present. Press alleges the defendants failed to pay him overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and has caused him to suffer loss of wages.

Press seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by

U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas Houston Division case number 4:20-CV-02858
